Finance firm PKF Cooper Parry, which has a base at Blythe Valley Business Park in Solihull, has been appointed as one of four UK firms on the audit panel of the Pension Protection Fund.
The PPF is a safety net for defined benefit pensions, created to help protect people’s pensions if their employer is going through an insolvency event.
Bosses say being appointed to the panel will give PKF Cooper Parry the opportunity to work with some huge brands and businesses, where the team’s work will have an impact on people’s lives and futures.
For PKF Cooper Parry, it also means extra revenue and further opportunity to grow its specialist pension team. The business will also work with other auditors on the panel to share best accountancy practice.
The appointment followed a thorough and robust tender process, where the pensions team at PKF Cooper Parry were asked to enclose details on their commitment to customer experience, quality and innovation.
This success also follows the business’s wider audit team being recently named as Audit Team of the Year at the British Accountancy Awards.
Colin Shaw, Partner at PKF Cooper Parry, and who founded the Pensions Audit team over 25 years ago, said: “We have a team with a true passion for pensions, a specialist group of 20 people who spend their time working in this sector. Our team is growing and we’re helping more clients than ever before. With the PPF, we’re confident we’re going to hit the ground running.”
Helen Scothern, Pensions Audit Director at PKF Cooper Parry, said: “We’re all excited to be working with the PPF and I’m looking forward to the opportunity. I’m proud of the work we submitted during the tender process and felt it shows who we are, what we do and what makes Cooper Parry different.”
