Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce has been crowned the top team in the UK for membership services.
The team clinched the Excellence in Membership Services accolade at the British Chambers of Commerce awards at the Tobacco Dock in London.
The win follows a record-breaking year for GBCC, achieving over 3,000 members in August, a record number of new members in November and signing up 300 new members in the past three months.
This year GBCC established a tenth divisional Chamber, Greater Birmingham Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce, its Asian Business Chamber launched their Diversity in Leadership pledge and campaign, and GBCC’s annual dinner and awards attracted 1,400 business people from across the region.
Paul Faulkner, chief executive at GBCC, said: “The membership team at GBCC are absolutely delighted to have won this award, which recognises the stellar work being conducted by the entire team at the Chambers.
“The business development and relationship management team, led by Mandy Canny, works tirelessly to connect Greater Birmingham based businesses to opportunities which will help them grow and flourish.
“The accolade from the British Chamber of Commerce is the real icing on the cake for the GBCC, as the Chambers have enjoyed a hugely successful year of growth.
“From sell-out dinners across our 10 divisional Chambers as part of the GBCC, to the 100 businesses joining the Chambers every month, GBCC is currently riding a wave of success which our members are benefitting from.
“From start-ups to patrons, every member is valued and supported wherever possible, as the GBCC exists to connect, support and grow businesses across Greater Birmingham and beyond.”
