Law firm deepens Midlands commitment

UK national law firm TLT has further invested in Birmingham with the appointment of Ollie Ward‑Jones as a restructuring and insolvency partner, underlining the firm’s continued commitment to the West Midlands market.

Ollie joins TLT from Squire Patton Boggs, bringing more than 15 years’ experience advising businesses, lenders and insolvency practitioners on complex insolvency, restructuring and corporate recovery mandates.

With deep roots in the West Midlands business community and well-established relationships across the local market, spanning financial institutions, advisory firms and corporates, Ollie brings technical expertise, commercial acumen and regional connectivity to the role.

He will be based in the firm’s Birmingham office, strengthening the firm’s nationally ranked offering, which includes over 70 lawyers across the Banking and Restructuring and Insolvency teams combined.

Ollie will play a central role in amplifying the profile and reach of TLT’s Restructuring and Insolvency team across the West Midlands. Clients across the region, in all sectors, will benefit from direct access to the firm’s wider national platform, and strong focus on innovation, technology and collaboration.

Ollie said: “The West Midlands is a market I have worked in throughout my career and one I care about deeply. It’s a privilege to promote the depth and breadth of TLT’s R&I offering to the West Midlands market and the opportunity to play a part in TLTs growth was not one I could pass up.

"TLT’s expansion and financial performance in recent years tells its own story, as does its ironclad commitment to the region. This is a fantastic opportunity to build something genuinely exciting, and I look forward to working with colleagues and clients to deliver practical, commercial solutions to increasingly complex challenges.”

Mark Elder, partner and head of location for Birmingham, said: “Ollie’s appointment is another important step in our continued growth in Birmingham. He brings deep technical expertise combined with intuitive understanding of the local commercial landscape and strong relationships across the Midlands market, with a proven ability to lead complex, time‑critical matters.

“Birmingham is a key strategic location for TLT, and Ollie’s arrival, following on the heels of the announcement of our move to Centenary Way, and the hire of corporate partner Andrew Glaze in Q4 last year, reaffirms our commitment to Birmingham and to investing in top‑tier talent to support clients across the region and beyond.”

Alongside his legal practice, Ollie is actively involved in social mobility and inclusion initiatives in Birmingham, including through his work with the Birmingham Law Society, aligned with TLT’s commitment to supporting opportunity and talent in the region.
