Construction expert appointed by law firm

A lawyer with extensive experience of the UK construction industry has joined Clarke Willmott Solicitors’ fast-growing office in Birmingham.

Robin joins the firm’s real estate team as an associate and brings with him almost 20 years’ experience working for contractors, distributors and manufacturers in the sector.

Robin, who has previously worked for Clarke Willmott, said: “There’s no doubt the UK construction industry is facing many challenges, including those caused by continued Brexit uncertainty, and I look forward to supporting my clients to overcome these issues and help stimulate growth in the sector.”

Working with landlords, commercial occupiers and property investors, Robin provides cost-effective, commercial and prompt advice in a broad range of areas – such as acquisitions, disposals, leases, development works, secured lending and other commercial property related matters.

The real estate team at Clarke Willmott is recognised as one of the largest and highest-performing in the UK with over 100 specialist lawyers providing advice on a range of property-related issues including construction and procurement, development (including complex landlord and tenant, acquisition and disposal issues), regeneration, property litigation and estate management.

The firm’s clients include developers, housing associations, construction specialists, development agencies, local authorities, landowners, as well as investors and funders.

Jonathan Morton, chairman of Clarke Willmott and partner in the firm’s real estate team, said: “Robin has huge experience within the UK construction industry, having worked on projects such as the 2012 Olympic Park, the Savoy Hotel in London, the King’s Cross Regeneration Project and other large public realm and infrastructure works.”
