AI and Big Data: What does it mean for your business?

How is Artificial Intelligence and Real Data going to be impacting the professional services industry across the city in the coming months and years?

That’s the question being tackled at a breakfast briefing in Birmingham on February 19, from 8am to 9.30pm at The Council House.

The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), funder of the Science 2 Industry (S2I) Regional Centre – hosted by the University of Birmingham - is holding the event.

Specialist presenters intend to walk delegates through some of their established tools and techniques, across a number of key tasks. These include:

* Building systems that learn to extract information from documents

* Automated redaction of specific elements of text

* Modelling regulations and directives for compliance

* Other complex tasks, and automated decision-making systems that model the judgements of domain experts

As experts in data science and Artificial Intelligence technologies, STFC's Hartree Centre scientists are experienced in combining techniques such as machine learning, natural language processing and knowledge engineering technologies to draw insights from all forms of structured and unstructured data sets of all sizes. This could be images, documents, databases, social media feeds, websites and more.

Organisers say the event will be of particular interest to people working in banking, legal services, accountancy and finance, surveying, consultancy, and estates.
