Software testing company relocates

One of the UK’s fastest growing and largest independent software testing companies, Edge Testing Solutions, part of Eurofins Digital Testing, has taken an office in Great Charles Street Queensway.

The new office will house the company's growing Midlands’ team, including new hires Alex Griffiths (business development manager) and Justin Brown (service delivery manager).

Since setting up its Birmingham-base in 2014, Edge Testing has created 20 jobs in the region, with the aim of recruiting another 40 new team members over the next 12 months, including test consultants, test managers, test analysts and trainee testers to service its growing client base.

Having increased its team by over 230%, from 6 to 20, Edge Testing has moved from its Quayside Wharf offices on Broad Street to the larger premises, which offer the software testing company’s expanding Midlands team a more central base with additional space to accommodate its continued growth.

Edge Testing’s regional client base has also increased over the past year, thanks to its unique digital test hub and Academy as a Service offerings. The digital test hub provides a low cost, on demand testing service supplied within the UK and the Academy as a Service enables clients to develop their own ‘super-charged’ testing resources without the burden of recruitment.

Recently-appointed business development manager, Alex Griffiths, brings over 20 years of IT sales experience from global testing industry players including SQS (now Expleo), Capita and Sogeti to his new role. Alex will be responsible for identifying business opportunities.

Alex said: “From a sales perspective, my new position offers me the flexibility and opportunities to help a dynamic technology company to grow. Edge Testing is one of only a few organisations in the testing world that genuinely wants to implement innovative approaches to improving the quality of business systems and applications.”

Also based in the new office, service delivery manager Justin Brown will focus on building relationships with partners and key stakeholders to understand their requirements and add value to existing client engagements.

David Singleton, regional manager for England and Wales at Edge Testing, said: “We established our Birmingham team five years ago and, over that time, it’s successfully grown to become the second largest UK base, after Edge Testing’s headquarters in Scotland.

“We’re delighted to welcome Alex and Justin to our expanding Midlands team as they are both dynamic individuals who will help us build Edge Testing’s reputation, and identify new business opportunities.

“Our move to this new office houses the whole team in a modern, bright office in a vibrant business zone, close to central transport hubs. It also provides us with comfortable break out areas, improved facilities and spacious meeting rooms for client engagements and presentations.”

Edge Testing’s Academy as a Service enables businesses to build their own in-house testing teams using Edge Academy graduates, at low risk and cost.

Now in its 13th year of trading, Edge Academy is just a part of Edge Testing’s continued growth. With a team of over 260 people, Edge Testing has seen growth year-on-year and boasts some of the UK’s premier testing thought leaders and experts in the industry.
