Signage specialists reach key milestone

Signage and visual communications specialist FASTSIGNS Birmingham has celebrated reaching a key business milestone at an international industry event.

The centre, which is led by Janie and Martin Drury, has been part of the FASTSIGNS franchise network since 1996. It was presented with the 25th Year Anniversary Award at the franchise giant’s international convention held in Dallas, Texas, USA.

FASTSIGNS Birmingham, which is based on Great Charles Street Queensway, was one of eight other FASTSIGNS UK centres that was recognised for its achievements over 2021 at the event. The international convention brings together FASTSIGNS franchisees from each of the ten countries the brand operates in, to recognise performance excellence in front of the wider peer network.

Themed ‘Building Your Future’, the multi-day overseas ceremony celebrated the success of the global FASTSIGNS franchise network. Attendees also had the opportunity to attend peer-to-peer panels and share best practice in a series of training sessions.

FASTSIGNS Global CEO Catherine Monson hosted the star-studded evening, joined by a series of motivational speakers including National Football League (NFL) players Emmitt Smith and Trent Shelton, as well as authors Scott Greenberg and Scott Bornstein.

Janie Drury, co-owner at FASTSIGNS Birmingham, said: "I opened this centre because I’m passionate about signs, but I stayed with the network because they offer unrivalled support. With FASTSIGNS I can benefit from industry insight from across the globe, yet I’m given the freedom to apply it to the context of my own local business.

“A lot has changed since we first opened our doors, but our fundamental approach remains the same. We’re committed to people which includes our clients and, of course, our staff. I believe this is why we’ve been able to keep running for over two decades and what a pleasure that has been.

“We’ve worked with an exciting range of businesses in the city, including University College Birmingham, Midland Heart and Dunlop Aircraft Tyres and have been part of some really creative commissions. I look forward to seeing what other projects we’ll realise in the next 25 years too.”

John Davies, managing director at FASTSIGNS UK, said: “As a global network of signage experts, community is so important to us at FASTSIGNS. It’s been a turbulent couple of years for businesses across the globe and I’m proud of everything we’ve achieved here in the UK, as well as across the world as a network.

“It’s been fantastic to celebrate FASTSIGNS Birmingham’s business milestone at our awards ceremony this year. As one of our longest-running franchises, they’ve always shown such commitment towards their customers while keeping up with the latest industry innovations, which says everything about the culture we like to nurture at FASTSIGNS.”
