Restaurants select iconic spirits brand

Birmingham-based Lucarelli Restaurant Group, which has three venues in the West Midlands, has picked an iconic London-based spirits brand, The King of Soho, for its cocktails.

Lucarelli, run by Carmine Sacco and business partner Wayne Shemmell, has been operating successful Lucarelli restaurants at Birmingham Mailbox, West Bromwich, Solihull Emporio Artari Touchwood and has now opened a venue on the 5th Floor of Harvey Nichols in London's Knightsbridge.

The restaurants specialise in traditional Italian food and will now also serve British gins and vodka. The King of Soho spirits will feature in newly-curated cocktails at all four venues. Lucarelli will be serving all three expressions in the range: The King of Soho London Dry Gin; The King of Soho Variorum Pink Gin; and The King of Soho Copacetic Vodka.

Lucarelli has also welcomed celebrity chef Aldo Zilli to the team where he has become Brand Ambassador. There is a natural fit with The King of Soho as both companies are family-owned and Aldo began his first restaurant in London's Soho district, where the spirits brand is based.

Aldo said: "Using The King of Soho Gin and Vodka at Lucarelli Knightsbridge is a collaboration of my two passions: great Italian cooking and the spirit of Soho. We are delighted to be using The King of Soho spirits in our new London venue as well as our original restaurants in our heartland of the West Midlands."

Alex Robson, CEO of The King of Soho, an independent drinks company, said: "We are thrilled to be working with the Lucarelli team, bringing our spirits to an even wider audience. They have developed some superb cocktail serves using our gins and our vodka. It's especially pleasing to roll out our spirits to this fine group of restaurants and we so look forward to seeing everyone enjoying these delicious King of Soho cocktails in the West Midlands as well as in London."

The signature serves, developed by Bar Manager Osvaldo, that will appear on the cocktail lists of the venues include the Amalfi to Soho gin-based cocktail, and the Italo Soho, made with The King of Soho Copacetic Vodka.
