Private finance practice strengthens team

Corporate advisory and investment practice Debrett’s Private Finance has bolstered its team with the appointment of director Max Gimson and principal Burhan Ahmed Zoarder.  

As a team of 12 investment professionals working across three offices in the UK, Debrett’s Private Finance continues to work with businesses over the long-term creating, realising shareholder value, and providing advice on company sales, acquisitions, Management Buy Outs, fundraising and growth strategies.  

They also provide direct investment of <£0.5m in profitable, growing businesses run by proven ambitious management teams as well as finding short-term solutions for businesses requiring growth funding and working capital.

Max is a seasoned financier and operator with over 20 years’ experience and has worked in high profile institutions such as Bank of Scotland plc and Rathbones Group plc. He has also worked in industry serving as CFO and CEO of a large healthcare business.

More recently he has undertaken entrepreneurial ventures and investments together with a number of property developments. Max leads the firm's delivery teams and works closely with clients to ensure efficiency of approach.

Having graduated from Warwick Business School, Burhan began his career with a ‘big four’ accountancy firm providing tax advisory services to entrepreneurial and owner managed businesses. He transitioned into a corporate finance role and has gained a wealth of experience on numerous successful transactions including the sale of Julian Bowen to Storskogen and Piper’s £33m investment into Omlet, an award-winning design-led pet products brand.

As well as the appointments of Max and Burhan, Harveer Gill has been promoted to principal after quickly becoming an integral part of the team over the last 12 months.
