Logistics provider Palletways Birmingham has announced two key promotions to support its business and growing customer base. Jessica Browne has been promoted to business development manager and Joshua Marklew to customer service supervisor.
Palletways Birmingham is part of Palletways UK’s palletised freight member network, working with customers across Birmingham, Staffordshire and the wider West Midlands region from its depot in Lichfield.
Kristie Hawkins, joint depot manager of Palletways Birmingham, said: “I’m delighted to recognise Jessica and Joshua for promotion, and both appointments are well deserved. We are committed to promoting and developing from within wherever possible and nurturing talent so we have the best people in place to support our customers."
Jessica, from Brownhills, joined Palletways seven years ago from the retail sector where she was a store manager for a leading coffee shop chain. Originally joining the business as customer service maternity cover, Jess was then offered a full-time position which led to a series of departmental promotions before her most recent promotion to business development manager.
She said: “The promotion means the world as my hard work and dedication to provide great customer service is recognised and rewarded. Palletways sees potential in people and encourages them to develop and make the best of themselves. The future looks bright and I look forward to the year ahead and the challenges of my new role.”
Joshua joined Palletways Birmingham three years ago and lives in Lichfield. Before joining Palletways he worked in hospitality, which gave him a strong skillset in customer service, communication and working in fast-paced environments. He also joined initially on a maternity cover contract before joining the business full-time to be able to focus on his career.
He said: “I’m very grateful for this opportunity from Palletways. There’s always something new to learn about the transport and logistics industry and with the support of the team I’ll keep developing my knowledge and building strong relationships with our customers.”
Palletways owns and operates eight depots that are part of the 130-strong Palletways UK network, which as well as Birmingham includes London, Cardiff, Bristol, Bournemouth, Milton Keynes, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
