Law firm bolsters expertise in city

National law firm Clarke Willmott has strengthened its commercial property team in the West Midlands with the appointment of two new partners.

Kevin Joynes and Neil Gosling are both experienced residential development lawyers and have joined the firm’s housebuilder team. They have joined Clarke Willmott’s Birmingham office from Shakespeare Martineau.

Kevin Joynes works with developers, housebuilders, registered providers and landowners on a variety of land deals in the public and private sectors.

Formerly a divisional legal director at Bovis Homes, his expertise includes drafting and negotiating development agreements on both the residential and commercial side on major developments and regeneration schemes, plus funding deals.

Neil Gosling advises developers, housebuilders, housing authorities and landowners on acquisitions, disposals promotion agreements and commercial leases. His expertise spans residential and commercial development, strategic land, regeneration and social housing.

Phil Thompson, partner and head of the housebuilder team at Clarke Willmott, said: “This double appointment comes at a time of continued demand for residential development expertise in Birmingham and across the wider West Midlands.
