Kitchen transformation crowned the best

A Birmingham kitchen renovation business has won a national award after completing a standout home transformation that impressed judges with its design, quality of finish and value for the customer.

Guy Clark, who owns Kitchen Makeovers in Birmingham, was named winner of Kitchen Makeover of the Year at the annual awards ceremony. The award celebrates the best kitchen transformation from across the country, recognising projects that combine strong design, skilled workmanship and real value for homeowners.

For the judges, the winning project stood out because it completely changed the look and feel of the kitchen while making the most of what was already there. The customer from behind the winning project near Alcester praised the team: “Guy was easy to talk with, offered ideas without being pushy and spotted some of the details that we would have overlooked. He also advised on some decisions that helped us save money. They were very respectful and a pleasure to have in our home.”

“It’s about combining great design, quality products and attention to detail to create a kitchen that feels brand new without the cost and disruption of a full replacement,” said Guy. “The project featured a contemporary shaker design using the Richmond door range, creating a timeless look that perfectly balanced modern and traditional styling.

“Alongside the new doors, we incorporated carefully selected finishing details to deliver a premium, high-end appearance while retaining the existing kitchen layout. The result was a complete transformation that not only looked stunning but also represented excellent value for our customer.”

Kitchen Makeovers helps local homeowners transform their kitchens without the cost, disruption or waste of a full refit. By replacing doors, worktops and finishing touches while retaining the existing layout where possible, the team can give kitchens a fresh new look in a more practical and affordable way.

While Guy was proud to receive the award, he said the recognition belonged to the wider team behind the project.

“I would like to thank Phil Duggan, our fitter, who installed the winning kitchen and has been with us since day one. His craftsmanship, attention to detail and commitment to quality are a huge part of what makes our projects successful.

“I would also like to thank James Macdonald from JDM Plumbing & Heating in Halesowen, who has carried out all of our plumbing and gas work since the business started. His professionalism, reliability and high standards have played a significant role in helping us consistently deliver outstanding results for our customers.

“Most importantly, I would like to thank all of our customers for putting their trust in us and allowing us into their homes. Winning Kitchen Makeover of the Year is something I’m extremely proud of - it reflects the hard work, dedication and expertise of everyone involved in the business.”
