Independent Governance Group (IGG) - a provider of professional pensions trusteeship, governance and communications services, has expanded its national presence by opening a new regional hub in Birmingham, strengthening its position in the Midlands pensions market.
The Birmingham hub, supported by a team of eight pensions specialists, builds on IGG’s existing UK presence and network.
The move extends its UK hub network to five locations: London, Edinburgh, Bristol, Manchester and Birmingham. The latest opening reflects the strength of Birmingham’s pensions market, its well-developed adviser network and IGG’s growing client base in the region.
The Birmingham hub is led by trustee director Karein Davie, alongside trustee directors Rachael Collinson and Tim Giles. The wider team includes Hiren Bhardwa, who joined IGG as trustee manager in February, senior associates Gareth Vesty and Hina Morton, associate Karell Elangue and assistant associate Sue Collins.
Karein said: “Opening a dedicated Birmingham hub is an important step in IGG’s continued regional growth and further expands our ability to bring professional trusteeship, governance and pensions support services to more organisations across the UK.
“We’ve built strong relationships across the Midlands pensions community over many years, and so Birmingham is an ideal base for our next phase of growth. Establishing a stronger local presence enables us to deepen relationships with clients and partners in the region, while widening access to IGG’s expertise as we continue to grow our national footprint.
“This launch reflects the momentum we are seeing in the Midlands and our confidence in Birmingham as a long-term centre for pensions expertise.”
Andrew Bradshaw, CEO at IGG, said: “Birmingham is an important addition to IGG’s UK hub network and reflects the continued development of our national operating model.
“As we grow, our focus is on making IGG’s professional trusteeship, governance and pensions support expertise more accessible to schemes and sponsors across the UK, while retaining the depth and quality of specialist support we are known for.
“I am delighted to see our Birmingham office formally launched and to recognise the strength of the team now established in the region.”
