Former jobs centre up for auction

A former jobs centre in a spacious office building in Sutton Coldfield is up for sale in Bond Wolfe’s next auction.

Unit 1, King Edward Court in King Edwards Square, is a three-storey property extending to more than 15,500 sq ft and it will appear in the livestreamed auction on Thursday (July 10).

Ian Tudor, commercial auctions director at Bond Wolfe, said the office building was considered suitable for a wide variety of alternative uses, including residential development, subject to planning permission.

“This is a landmark property in a prime location in the centre of the popular and affluent town of Sutton Coldfield. The purpose-built office building was formerly occupied by the Government’s Job Centre Plus.

“The property occupies a prominent corner position at the junction of High Street and Railway Road, within the High Street conservation area, around seven miles north of Birmingham city centre."

Unit 1, King Edward Court will be among 196 lots appearing in Bond Wolfe’s next auction, which is due to start at 8.30am on Thursday.

The auction will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
