Cult coffee favourite opens new store

Birmingham’s cult coffee favourite, already serving over 200 lattes a day in the city, opens its doors in Harborne this month with 2,000 free drinks for locals.

Speciality coffee roaster 200 Degrees has announced it will be bringing its signature coffee shop experience to Harborne, one of Birmingham’s most vibrant city-suburb destinations.

The new store will open its doors at 7am on Saturday September 20, at 85 High Street, and marks the brand’s third Birmingham location, fourth in the West Midlands, and its 24th coffee shop across the UK.

Already a cult favourite in Birmingham, 200 Degrees has carved out its own lane with proper house-roasted coffee, thoughtfully designed spaces, and a loyal following of local coffee lovers since first arriving in 2016. Over the past 12 months alone, the brand has sold over 73,500 of its signature lattes to customers on Colmore Row and Lower Temple Street in the city centre.

Building on this momentum, the new Harborne store will sit on the half mile-long High Street, spanning a generous 1,163 sq ft, with 67 indoor seats and 16 outdoor, bringing its freshly roasted coffee, handmade sandwiches, seasonal drinks, and a cosy, welcoming space to even more local fans.

To celebrate the opening, 2,000 free drinks will be available for Harborne residents. Locals simply need to sign up to the mailing list here ahead of opening to receive a voucher to enjoy their favourite brew once doors open.

Marta Mieleszko, cluster manager at 200 Degrees, said: “We’re really excited to continue our expansion in Birmingham. We’re looking forward to welcoming the community, getting to recognise the same faces, learning their names and their order, and serving them our speciality drinks, with the first being on the house to celebrate the launch.”

The opening will also create up to 15 new jobs in the local area, including manager and barista roles. Known for its people-first culture, 200 Degrees offers full barista training, career development, and a genuinely supportive workplace.
