Cluster has its formal launch

The West Midlands Health Technologies Cluster will hold its formal launch at the University of Warwick this week - and fittingly, the September 24 event will be held at a conference about the UK’s diagnostics sector.

Executive chair David Kidney said the Cluster had come of age very quickly: “The West Midlands Health Technologies Cluster is already a strong and dynamic alliance of regional businesses. Their health technologies products and services cover medical devices, digital services, data systems – and diagnostics. We have great buy-in also from professional services, universities and the NHS.

“We have been determined to work collaboratively with other organisations which offer business support services. This has earned us a reputation as an effective team player, able to work strategically with others for the benefit of our region.”

The Cluster’s launch will take place midway through the “Building a Sustainable UK Diagnostic Sector: Meeting the Challenge” conference which will be jointly hosted by the Cluster, University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire, and the University of Warwick.

The launch will feature a presentation by executive chair David Kidney, a speech from Henriette Lyttle-Breukelaar (director of economic strategy for the Greater Birmingham & Solihull LEP), and a presentation by Lisa Page of law firm Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP.
