Chamber announces awards shortlist

Solihull Chamber of Commerce has announced the shortlist for the upcoming Solihull Awards, where 42 businesses will be competing across 11 categories.

The awards will take place on September 11 at National Conference Centre and the headline sponsor is Solihull College & University Centre.

The judging panel was chaired by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) chief financial officer Helen Bates.

Other judges included Eman Al-Hillawi, CEO of Entec Si; Monica Ghai, president of Asian Business Chamber of Commerce; Jamie Gibson, group assurance manager at National Grid; Martin Hall, Lichfield & Tamworth Chamber of Commerce president; Marina Ibrahim, founder of Globality Insights; Felix Peter-Thomas, business development director at Santander; Gary Phelps, president of Royal Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce; and Claire Reeves, vice president of Burton Chamber of Commerce.

One of the category winners will then be crowned as Solihull Business of the Year, sponsored by the NEC.

Helen Bates said: “The shortlist for this year’s Solihull Chamber of Commerce Awards showcases the ambition, resilience and innovation that continues to drive our local business community forward.

“Across every category, we saw organisations demonstrating a clear commitment to excellence, whether through supporting their people, embracing innovation, delivering outstanding customer service or making a positive impact in their communities.

Tickets for the awards are priced at £125 plus VAT per person while a table of 10 is priced at £1,250 plus VAT.

All shortlisted candidates will be invited to a pre-awards celebration on August 12 at Hogarths Hotel, Solihull.
