An independent West Midlands accountancy firm has won a coveted prize in the national 2022 Accounting Excellence Awards.
Spark Accountants of Sutton Coldfield scooped the Client Transformation Award in the ceremony that took place at London’s Tobacco Dock conference centre.
The award goes to the accountancy firm that best demonstrates how it has made a positive impact on a business, helping to transform it.
The judging panel said: “Spark clearly understood what their client was about and gave them all the support that they could need. The judges were impressed by Spark’s use of data visualisation tools, but where the firm made the biggest impact was in the way they listened to their client.”
Spark Accountants was a finalist with three other leading firms and went on to win on the night of the awards, which are run by the accounting magazine and website Accounting Web and have been going for ten years.
Phil Burnell, founder and managing director of Spark Accountants, said: “We are proud of this award as not only was the competition really tough but it is also why Spark was set up, to help businesses and make a real difference.”
Comedian and Strictly Come Dancing 2022 contestant Ellie Taylor hosted the awards ceremony and Mr Burnell and Spark director Matt Smith were both at the event to pick up the award.
The headline sponsor for the awards was Intuit QuickBooks, and category sponsors were Bright, IRIS, Koinly, Mercia, Sage and Xero.
