Harry Jawanda, CEO and Co-Founder of Wambiz, has sold his app-based staff engagement technology to Allocate Software, a leading international provider of workforce and resource planning solutions. The product will help support the operational and administrative needs of the healthcare, defence and maritime sectors.
Harry studied BSc Information Technology Management for Business (ITMB) at Birmingham City University from 2005. After graduating with first-class honours in 2009, Harry worked for the investment bank Morgan Stanley, where he undertook a placement during his time as a student, before he founded Wambiz in October 2012.
Harry was given the Alumni of the Year award from Birmingham City University, which recognises graduates who have made a valuable contribution to society or their professional field. It also demonstrates the extraordinary range of achievements among the University’s former students.
Wambiz is best known for specialising in apps for schools, colleges and universities which allow students to connect and communicate with their teachers and each other in an engaging, yet controlled way, without blurring the line between school and social life.

The acquisition of Wambiz complements Allocate’s existing portfolio that includes both its Optima workforce platform and associated solutions used by over a million health and social care workers globally, and its Dynama OneView solution used to manage people and resources across some of the world’s most prestige defence and maritime organisations.
Headquartered in the United Kingdom and with 500 employees – including over 190 in research, development and product management functions – Allocate provides services and support to its international customer base through regional offices in the UK, Sweden, France, Spain, Germany and Australia.

Harry was handed his Alumni of the Year award by Birmingham City University’s Chancellor, Sir Lenny Henry in a graduation ceremony at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, alongside graduands from the institution’s Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment.
As well as success in business, Harry also played field hockey for England for many years. He has won three English Premier Division titles among other accolades, and still plays for his local side, Cannock Hockey Club.
