A huge surge in the number of registered bidders signing up to compete for properties in Bond Wolfe’s latest auction is further proof that the auction route is becoming ever more popular.
Bond Wolfe’s September auction raised £25,077,500, taking the total for the year to over £120 million.
During a day of competitive bidding, Bond Wolfe sold 150 of the 178 lots offered for a success rate of 87%.
Remote bidding registrations rose from 1,017 in the July auction to 1,329, with 1,476,156 website views, 76,495 video tours watched and 46,565 legal packs downloaded.
Birmingham City Council raised nearly £3 million from the sale of properties and land in Bond Wolfe’s September livestreamed auction.
Ten of the 11 lots offered sold with the best price achieved by the former Skilts School at Gorcott Hill, near Redditch, which sold for £1.2 million from a guide price* of £1 million+.
The former Halescroft Youth Centre in Northfield sold for more than double its guide price of £250,000+, with the hammer falling at £550,000.
Five out of six shops in Harborne Park Road in Harborne sold for a total of £873,000, with 23-25 Albert Road selling for £237,000 from a guide price of £150,000+.
Three out of four plots of land offered sold, with one site in Northfield achieving £162,000 from a guide price of £20,000+.

Bond Wolfe also sold four properties for City of Wolverhampton Council, with houses in Leicester Street, Vicarage Road, Blackburn Avenue and Phoenix Street all selling well.
The standout residential lot sold privately was 9 Nicholls Close, Solihull, a four bedroom detached house that achieved £430,000 from a guide price of £195,000+.
The Staff of Life, a vacant freehold pub/restaurant in Mowsley, Leicestershire, sold for £312,500 from a guide price of £295,000+. And the former United Reform Church in Dodington, Shropshire, which was listed with a guide price of £91,000+, sold for £94,000.
Bond Wolfe’s next auction will start at 8.30am on Thursday 22 October and will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet. k
