New transport director takes the helm

Pegasus Group has welcomed Karen Evans as transport director at its Birmingham office - the first regional expansion in a rapidly-growing area of the business.

Karen joins Pegasus Group from the Birmingham office of Wood Group UK Limited where she was technical director and head of transport in the Planning, Transport, Places & Design team of Resilient Environments International. She is a member of the National Association of Women in Construction.

Craig Rawlinson, senior transport director at Pegasus Group, said: “Karen has more than 20 years of industry knowledge and experience in traffic, highways and transportation working on multi-disciplinary projects in both the public and private sectors.

“Transport is one of our most rapidly-growing areas and bringing Karen’s expertise into our Birmingham office will enable us to provide a more streamlined national service. I very much look forward to introducing her to the team and working with her in order to build and enhance our offering.”

Karen joined Wood in October 2017, having previously worked at WSP for more than 15 years.

She said: “I’m delighted to be joining Pegasus Group’s Transport team and look forward to the challenge of bringing in new clients from across the Midlands, while building on the existing client base. This is such an exciting time to come on board - as the company has grown it has attracted a new level of transport work which I can’t wait to get involved in.”

The key objectives when the team was first launched was to deliver a quality transport service that was robust, using best practice and up-to-date policy, technical documents and guidance; to identify key transport issues, opportunities and constraints and provide cost-effective solutions, and to be honest, pragmatic and realistic in the advice given.

Pegasus Group has more than 350 skilled and experienced staff operating from 15 locations throughout the UK.
