Law firm announces partner promotions

DLA Piper has announced two partner promotions at its Birmingham office as part of the firm’s annual promotion round - Simon Wright and George Mortimer.

Simon has been with the firm since 2010, having originally joined as a trainee. He is part of Birmingham’s Corporate team, with extensive cross-border M&A experience acting for corporate and institutional vendors, and purchasers across Europe and the US.

He also has experience advising on private equity transactions, including management buyouts, secondary buyouts, exits and debt/equity reorganisations/restructurings/refinancing’s.

George has been at DLA Piper since 2007, working in the Litigation and Regulatory team. He has extensive experience of significant professional liability and construction related claims, and of insurance and reinsurance disputes. He has also advised clients on a broad range of non-contentious insurance issues and on coverage under professional indemnity, D&O, banker's bond/commercial crime, contractor's all risks, design and construct and property policies.

Globally, DLA Piper has promoted 74 lawyers to its partnership across many of the firm’s practice areas, in 38 different offices throughout 21 countries.
