Sonny’s Jewellers - a leading boutique located in Birmingham’s historical Jewellery Quarter - has been named “Independent Fine Jeweller of the Year” by Professional Jeweller, being recognised as one of the nation’s top independent destinations for fine jewellery.
The award is the latest of accolades for the business, which recently took home the Jewellery Retailer of the Year (five stores or fewer) title at the Retail Jeweller UK Jewellery Awards earlier this year. Other strings to the store’s bow include winning Best Sales Team at the UK Jewellery Awards in 2021.
Throughout 2024, the store has gained recognition for its excellent customer service and continued innovation in providing best-in-class experiences for its customers. This has included innovative measures bringing improvements to the storefront, its focus on staff training and enhancements to its onsite workshop and 3D printing services.
With a presence in the city’s historic Jewellery Quarter since 1968, the multi-award-winning independent business prides itself on providing a top tier customer experience, with services including bespoke remodelling and repairs alongside access to an impressive stock list of 20,000 pieces.
Store manager Monika Jockute said: “Supporting the legacy of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter is at the heart of a lot of our activity, and we’re proud to be able to continuously bring attention to the area through our awards activity. Our team is second to none when it comes to customer service and winning another prestigious industry award is testament to our commitment to excellence in all that we do.”
Sonny’s Jewellers is an active participant not only in the jewellery world, where operations director Leesha Kaur is a member of the National Association of Jeweller’s (NAJ) committee, but also works to showcase the Jewellery Quarter as a place of excellence for local business and actively supports charitable causes that give back to the community.
This has included taking part in a Dragonboat race in a team of jewellers and associated businesses to raise money for Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospitals Trust.
Manish Jogia, managing director at Sonny’s Jewellers, said: “We’re proud to continuously be recognised as a destination for fine jewellery in Birmingham, and to fly the flag for the Jewellery Quarter. This is just the beginning of a great year for Sonny’s and we hope to continue to build on our success as we enter the second half of 2024.”
