Specialist bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring practice Isadore Goldman has opened a new office in Birmingham, led by solicitor and director Monica Kapur.
The launch coincides with the 141st anniversary of Isadore Goldman first opening its doors in 1885 and marks the next stage in the firm’s continued growth.
Monica is Birmingham born and bred and has 20 years’ experience advising on contentious matters. Her leadership of the new office will strengthen the firm’s profile in the city and provide a local point of contact for clients, Insolvency Practitioners and professional advisers across the Midlands.
The Birmingham office in Brindley Place will also support the continued development of IG Construct, Isadore Goldman’s bespoke service for insolvency practitioners advising or appointed over insolvent construction companies.
Through IG Construct, the firm offers a joined-up solution for insolvency practitioners, with funding available where required. The service provides clear, practical and specialist support in construction insolvency matters, where commercial, contractual and recovery issues can be particularly complex.
Managing director Nick Oliver said: “Opening an office in Birmingham is a significant milestone for Isadore Goldman and an important part of our continued growth as a specialist insolvency and restructuring firm.
“Establishing a permanent presence in Birmingham gives us an excellent platform to strengthen relationships across the Midlands, and Monica is exactly the right person to lead that next stage, bringing deep sector experience, strong regional connections and a real understanding of the local professional community.”
The office launch also coincides with Monica’s recent appointment as Regional Chair of the R3 Midlands branch. Monica succeeds Stephen Rome in the role and becomes the first female Chair of the R3 Midlands committee.
Monica said: “Opening Isadore Goldman’s Birmingham office is a very exciting step for the firm, and it feels especially meaningful to me as someone who is Birmingham born and bred.
“Birmingham has a strong business, advisory and professional community, and having a presence here allows us to build closer relationships with clients, referrers, insolvency practitioners and other professionals across the region.
“It also gives us a stronger platform to continue developing IG Construct. We know construction insolvency can involve very specific commercial and practical challenges, and our aim is to provide clear, specialist and joined-up support from the outset.
“Opening a new office here at the same time as taking on the role of R3 Midlands Chair feels particularly significant. It gives us an even stronger base in the region and reflects our commitment to being part of the local professional community.
“I am looking forward to supporting R3’s work across the Midlands, strengthening connections across the insolvency and restructuring profession and encouraging wider engagement and diversity within the sector.”
