A fourth generation Hollywood company that manufactures packaging materials in Birmingham is celebrating its 80th anniversary.
Kilby Packaging began in 1946 when John Kilby started the business reclaiming and recycling boxes at a time of severe raw material shortages after WW2.
Since then the company has been dedicated to promoting eco-friendly packaging by using renewable, sustainable resources and incorporating recycled materials into the ranges.
As an independent family-run company, the company is based at Hollywood, in South Birmingham location.
In 2019 Kilby Packaging invested in a corrugated manufacturing plant in Northamptonshire which has grown significantly since the acquisition, supplying corrugated packaging in a variety of styles, formats and materials.
This has helped to fulfil the growing demand for customised, made-to-fit packaging which is creatively designed and enhances product appeal. The portfolio also now includes printed paper bags and ecommerce mailers as well as printed self-adhesive paper tapes.
Lynn Kilby, commercial director said, “We have continued to invest and grow the company, which would not have been possible without the hard work and commitment of our team, a large proportion of whom have worked with us for over 10 years. We would also like to thank the support of our loyal customers who appreciate our values and benefit from the full range of packaging products we offer.”
Kilby Packaging, with four generations now within the company, sees investment in employees and machinery as integral to its success. The firm strives to ensure products and services meet and exceed customer expectations, to guarantee the family brand lives on.
