Firm makes significant promotions

Aon plc (NYSE: AON), has announced its specialist UK Insolvency and Restructuring insurance and risk team based in Birmingham, has made three significant promotions following sustained growth this year.

Aon’s Insolvency and Restructuring team delivers enhanced shareholder and creditor returns through the innovative use of risk capital in insolvency and restructuring scenarios.

While the insolvency market has generally remained flat in 2025, Aon’s specialist team has increased its market share with new appointments up 28 percent compared to last year. This continued growth has resulted in three promotions as the team readies itself for further growth and recruitment.

Josh Goodall and Sam Leverton both become client managers, while Dan Squire has been promoted to team leader.

Josh, who has more than 10 years of industry experience, joined Aon in 2022. Since then, he has consistently demonstrated a commendable work ethic and a collaborative spirit within the team.

He said: “Every day is different when you work in Insolvency. That keeps things fresh as you never know what case you’ll get next. In my new role, I’m particularly looking forward to meeting with more clients and attending site visits.”

Sam Leverton has worked at Aon for four years, using his technical skills and attention to detail to support efficient case management and strong client relations.

Sam said: “I enjoy the variety of work that we get involved in. It can range from restructuring a firm for future success, to trading in preparation for a sale, or managing an orderly wind-down. It’s often fast-paced and there’s always an opportunity to learn, so as I start in this new role I am excited to take on new responsibilities and broaden my overall experience.”

Dan Squire joined Aon in 2019 and thrives in making complex and uncertain situations easier to manage for all involved. He said: “We often don’t know, at least initially, the overall scale of the work that we’re taking on which means we must be prepared for all eventualities.

"Being able to help direct the roles and responsibilities within the team is something I’m particularly looking forward to. I’ve learnt a lot from my line managers and hope that in my new role, my team will become a reflection of me so that we continue to grow our revenue and maintain our enviable level of client retention.”

Mark Sanderson, managing director of UK Insolvency and Restructuring at Aon, said: “Continuing to increase the number of new appointments in a relatively flat insolvency market is no mean feat. This growth is testament to the team that we’ve built, and Josh, Sam and Dan have all played an integral part in this.

"We’re actively looking to continue our growth trajectory and have plans in place for further recruitment. However, to do this successfully and in a sustainable manner that protects our already strong client relationships, it’s vital that we have the very best team structure in place. These promotions are all part of that process and follow a series of other senior promotions that we’ve invested in over the past 18 months.”
