Finalists revealed for Birmingham Asian business awards

The shortlist has been announced for this year’s Asian Business Chamber of Commerce annual dinner and award, taking place on November 17.

This year’s event will take place at the International Convention Centre. The event has also adopted the Anzal Begum Foundation as its chosen charity.

The entries were judged by Joel Blake, founder and managing director of CultiV8 Solutions, Qasim Majid, president of the ABCC, Anita Bhalla, chair of performances Birmingham at Town Hall and Symphony Hall and Suzanne Virdee, presenter and journalist at ITV news. This year’s award nominations increased by 36 per cent from last year.

ABCC president Qasim Majid said: “The range of businesses and individuals that applied for this year’s awards was phenomenal, and truly demonstrated the business talent we have in this region.

“With that, it was incredibly difficult for the other judges and I to determine the shortlist. I would like to thank everyone that entered into the awards, and showed off their hard-working businesses and work they are doing in the region.”

Mandy Canny, group membership director and chair of the judging panel, said: “The judges were overwhelmed with the quality and amount of entries for these awards, which only further highlights the vibrancy and diversity of the businesses in the region.”
