Black Country-based Sadler’s Brewery is raising a glass to West Midlands Railway’s discounted evening train services with the launch of its session pale ale.
Aptly named ‘Last Train Home’, the session IPA has been brewed to celebrate West Midlands Railway’s £2.50 Evening Return and the introduction of more evening and later trains across various locations of the network after work and over the weekends.
Avoiding the expense of taxis and the rush of peak time travel, West Midlands Railway passengers can now hop on their local train any time after 6.30pm (within the Network West Midlands area zones) and experience all that Birmingham has to offer.
Available by cask, the zesty and fragrant Last Train Home ale is being stocked at a number of city centre based venues including Head of Steam, Pint Shop, Old Joint Stock, The Wellington, Post Office Vaults, Lost & Found, Cosy Club and Eagle & Tun.
Andy Camp, commercial director at West Midlands Railway, said: “Birmingham is more than just a 9-5 city and we’re recognising this through initiatives like the £2.50 Evening Return, as well as future investments to enhance the network. Businesses are more flexible in their approach to the working day, so helping to grow the evening economy in our region is something we are fully supporting.
“We couldn’t think of a better way to mark the launch of our new and improved late night and evening services than partnering with Sadler’s – a much-loved local brewery based at Lye station on our railway line.”
Chris Dew, marketing manager at Sadler’s Brewery, said: “It’s been a fantastic partnership working with West Midlands Railway to create the Last Train Home cask ale. It’s great having more late evening trains available – our brewery is at Lye station so the availability of improved later evening services will help provide travel for our customers where they can enjoy a lower ABV beer and still get home responsibly and safely.”
